Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 21, 2026
1. Introduction
Sikora Labs, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates TechWrite ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name (optional), email address, and password. If you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
Documents and Content
We store the documents, files, and text you create or upload to the Service. This includes Markdown, LaTeX, PDF, DOCX, and HTML files. Binary files (PDF, DOCX) are stored in their original format in our database.
Vector Embeddings
To power semantic search and autocomplete, we generate vector embeddings from your document content using the all-MiniLM-L6-v2 model. These embeddings are numerical representations stored in our PostgreSQL database with the pgvector extension. Embeddings are scoped to your project and are not shared across users.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVC, or full payment details on our servers. We receive and store your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and billing email for account management purposes.
Usage Data
We collect basic usage analytics including page views, feature usage, and error logs to improve the Service. We do not track you across other websites.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Service, including document storage, search, and AI-assisted writing features.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing notifications).
- To improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized usage data.
- To respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
We do not use your documents or content to train AI models.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Authentication and database hosting (PostgreSQL).
- Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Resend — Transactional email delivery (account-related emails only).
- Google OAuth — Optional sign-in provider. Google's privacy policy governs data shared during authentication.
- AI Language Model Providers — The AI assistant uses third-party language model providers to process your requests. Document content sent to the AI assistant may be transmitted to these providers. Paid plan users who configure their own API key (BYOK) may route requests to their chosen provider; we do not control those providers' data handling practices.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens) and security. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
6. Data Retention
Your account data and documents are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and documents within 30 days. Anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Erasure — Request deletion of your personal data.
- Portability — Request a machine-readable copy of your data.
- Objection — Object to processing of your personal data.

9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
