Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TechWrite ("the Service"), operated by Sikora Labs, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TechWrite is an AI-enhanced technical writing platform that provides document editing, vector-based semantic search, intelligent autocomplete, and an AI writing assistant. The Service is available at app.techwrite.ai and related subdomains.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You may register using an email and password or through Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

TechWrite offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice. You may cancel your subscription at any time. See our Refund Policy for details on cancellations and refunds.

5. AI Assistant and LLM Usage

The Service includes an AI writing assistant powered by third-party language model providers. Each subscription plan includes a monthly token allowance for AI usage. Token usage is tracked, and when your allowance is exhausted, the AI assistant will be unavailable until your monthly reset or you upgrade to a higher plan.

Paid plans (Pro, Team) may optionally use Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) integration to connect a custom OpenAI-compatible LLM API endpoint. When using BYOK:

  • You are responsible for your own API key security and any charges incurred from your LLM provider.
  • We do not store your API keys on our servers beyond the duration of your active session.
  • We are not responsible for the output, accuracy, or availability of third-party LLM services.
  • Your use of third-party LLM services is subject to those providers' own terms and policies.

6. User Content

You retain all ownership rights to the documents, text, and other content you create or upload to the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your User Content. We will not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service (e.g., generating vector embeddings for search functionality).

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service.
  • Upload content that is malicious, infringing, or violates the rights of others.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is the intellectual property of Sikora Labs, LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sikora Labs, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and we may delete your data after a reasonable retention period.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending you an email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Sikora Labs, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
